Lake Mille Lacs: Adopt a Shoreline

Our Purpose

Right in our backyard, there are two hundred square miles of water that give us recreation and relaxation - Lake Mille Lacs. It’s a source of pride in our community. That’s why we want to make sure our shores stay scenic and inviting. Four years ago, Adopt-a-Shoreline, a community-wide partnership, was created to collect trash on designated shorelines.

Come join a good cause, close to our hearts.

Adopt-A-Shoreline In Action

Last year, more than 2,000 lbs. of trash was removed from the shores of Lake Mille Lacs as part of the inaugural program.

So long, trash. Hello, beautiful lakeshore.

Together we are united in a common cause: to make this lake a better place.

Trash collected must be in designated bags. Only trash from the shoreline will be accepted. No tires, weeds, fluorescent bulbs, batteries or any hazardous materials.

Special thanks to the Mille Lacs Band DNR and the Minnesota DNR. *In the event ice isn't off the lake or there is inclement weather, a new clean-up day will be designated.
